Sustainable enterprise management
Based on our vision of 'zero waste solutions’ and guided by our sustainable development strategy, we are developing new comprehensive concepts for the circular economy. Together with our customers, employees and partners, we work on solutions that help protect the climate and save resources. Our goal is to be a learning company.

2020: Conversation Prof. Günther Bachmann and Markus Müller-Drexel
Climate protection is more important than ever. What contribution can the circular economy make? And how can we make its influence more pervasive? These topics are discussed by Prof. Günther Bachmann, expert on Sustainability and Markus Müller-Drexel, Managing Director of Interzero Dienstleistungs GmbH. Listen to the recording in German:
Interzero's sustainable development strategy
zero waste - no waste
Here you can see our current action plan aligned with the sustainable development strategy:
Sustainability Action Plan
without wasting ideas
without wasting resources
zero waste solutions
Innovation is the driving force behind successful transformation processes. Taking into account the risk of failure, we test every new idea that brings us closer to a circular economy. Only in this way can we make decisive changes in the linear economy.
We support our clients in their efforts for sustainable development and introducing these issues to non-financial reporting, using the potential of service digitization.
We extend the life of the product by exploiting new markets and expanding business models – thanks to the implementation of these mechanisms, we have helped to increase profits by at least 20 percent.
To ensure a more efficient use of resources in the production-retail line, we are developing new packaging design solutions that are more suitable for recycling.
We believe that in the future the use of resources must be based on the 'zero waste' principle. That is why we work every day on new solutions for closing the loop of raw materials.
In order to rid the planet of plastic waste in the future, we are constantly developing new upcycling solutions for plastics. We also focus on improving the quality and quantity of the secondary raw materials we produce and offer to manufacturers.
If global warming is to stay below 2°C, the link between global resource use and economic growth must be broken. Hence our desire to create solutions for the circular economy and the intention to generate savings of at least 5 million tons of resources and 800,000 tons of CO2e (carbon dioxide equivalent) per year.
To achieve a significant reduction in environmental impact, especially in urban areas, we take an integrated approach to waste prevention and achieve a significant increase in recycling rates.
Our people and their capabilities are at the heart of our expert position as a provider of environmental services. To ensure that they perform their work for clients at the highest level every day, we must ensure their health, safety, motivation and professional development.
We want to promote the physical and mental health of our employees and achieve sick leave and employee fluctuation statistics significantly lower than those typical for the industry. That is why we provide a safe, value-added and innovative work environment that supports personal development.
We want to provide opportunities for commitment to absolutely all employees, regardless of their position within the company and regardless of age, gender, origin, religion or social status. That is why we make sure that all (potential) employees of our company have equal opportunities.
To develop a comprehensive circular economy, we need to share our experience and knowledge - not only with our customers, but also with representatives of various industries and society at large. This is the only way to increase environmental awareness and generate the economic benefits of effective circular management.
We believe it is our responsibility to promote sustainable lifestyles and consumption patterns. In this context, we act as an intermediary to ensure that knowledge about the circular economy reaches the education sector, politics, business and civil society.
We want to develop and disseminate (internationally) standards and solutions in the field of circular economy suitable for each industry. To this end, we work closely with our partners, stakeholders, suppliers and customers.
At the same time, we give our employees a creative space so that they can participate or co-create solutions for the circular economy themselves.
without wasting talent
without wasting knowledge
We are taking concrete steps to implement our climate strategy
50% less emissions at our locations by 2025

Our services help clients reduce greenhouse gas emissions and save resources. But our own actions also contribute to CO2 emissions. Our goal is therefore to reduce emissions at our own locations, and thus contribute to the achievement of the target set in 2015. at the United Nations Climate Change Conference, namely limiting global warming to well below two degrees Celsius. To this end, we design internal processes and activities to be as resource-neutral and efficient as possible. We used our carbon footprint calculations to formulate our climate strategy and specific goals:
- 50% reduction in emissions at each site (Scope 1 and 2) by 2025
- Continuously identifying optimization opportunities in logistics and striving to reduce logistics-related emissions
- Annual savings of at least 5.5 million tons of resources and 800,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent through our services
Educational campaigns
Do you introduce packaged products or packaging to the domestic market? You have a duty to conduct public education campaigns
The obligation to conduct public educational campaigns is one of the legal requirements imposed on those introducing packaging and packaged products (Act of 13 June 2013 on packaging and packaging waste management).
The concept of an educational campaign covers any action aimed at:
- raising the ecological awareness of the society;
- regarding the proper handling of packaging waste;
- raising awareness of the impact of packaging waste on the environment and human health;
- informing about the available return, collection, recovery and recycling systems for product packaging.
Public educational campaigns specifically concern entrepreneurs who market products covered by the SUP (Single-Use Plastics) directive – implemented into Polish regulations by the Act of May 11, 2001. on the obligations of entrepreneurs regarding the management of certain waste and on the product fee (Journal of Laws of 2020, item 1903 and of 2023, item 877)). According to the provisions, the additional educational obligation applies to single-use products containing plastic, such as:
- wet wipes
- balloons
- lightweight plastic shopping bags
- sanitary napkins, tampons and tampon applicators
As part of educational activities, information should be provided about:
- the availability of alternative reusable products, reuse systems and best practices in sound waste management,
- the impact of littering and inappropriate waste disposal on the environment, in particular the marine environment,
- the impact of inappropriate waste disposal methods on sewage networks.
How to fulfill the obligation to conduct public educational campaigns?
1. Through NFOŚiGW – by transferring an amount of at least 2% of the net value of packaging placed on the market in the previous calendar year directly to the indicated account of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW).
2. By cooperating with a packaging recovery organization – this solution can be used by any entity that introduces goods in packaging to the domestic market, regardless of the way in which it settles the product fee.
We will help you comply with legal regulations and earn money on it
A smart solution that turns formal requirements into real profit for your company. Interzero helps companies organize events and marketing campaigns, combining environmental obligations with the company’s communication needs.
- We convince you that environmental education does not have to be boring and clichéd.
- We prove that it does not have to be unnecessary, just a „formal” expense.
- We make environmental education a strength and competitive advantage of your company.
- It affects the positive image of your business – modern, responsible, trustworthy.
That is why, as part of the environmental education campaign, we offer:
- certainty of proper fulfillment and settlement of the statutory obligation to conduct public educational campaigns;
- implementation of additional dedicated educational campaigns;
- tailor-made ideas – educational projects proposed by Interzero give the opportunity to meet statutory obligations, as well as – by selecting the scale and form of customer presence – goals in the field of corporate social responsibility;
- annual report on the implementation of public educational campaigns.

Sustainability Report
Creating sustainable value , protecting the climate and resources, being socially responsible: read our current Sustainability Report to see what we're aiming for and what we've already achieved
Check out our contribution to the circular economy
The circular economy is growing rapidly. More and more companies see the possibilities of sustainable transformation and boldly step into the future. These companies only benefit because avoiding waste, reusing and recycling not only reduces the burden on our planet, but also opens up new horizons in value creation.
Using our magazine dedicated to sustainable development, „Sustainability Magazine” , we would like to present how enterprises and the environment benefit from innovative solutions related to the circular economy. We also want to highlight the role that Interzero is already playing in shaping this economy together with our customers and partners. With this magazine, we aim to inspire others to take action for sustainable development and use the potential of circularity.
One World. Zero Waste. Let's #MoveTheDate!
Become part of our movement and reduce your ecological footprint. Because climate protection is a team sport! With us, you will influence the sustainable development of your company, increase your long-term profit opportunities and improve your reputation.
Research from the Global Footprint Network shows that our recycling activities postpone Eco Debt Day by 7 minutes and 16 seconds around the world.
Ecological Debt Day, also known as Overshoot Day , is the symbolic date of the year when humanity has used more natural resources than the Earth can renew. From this moment until the end of the year, we operate on ecological „credit”, using more resources than our ecosystem can regenerate. This is an alarming indicator of overexploitation and the pressure we are putting on the planet.
Together with customers and partners, we can influence the global Earth Day of Debt. Recycling and reusing materials protects our planet by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and preserving biodiversity.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Here you will find answers to the most popular questions.
The product fee is an „environmental” obligation of entrepreneurs manufacturing and introducing products in packaging, post-consumer products, batteries and accumulators to the domestic market. The product fee is the sum of fees for not performed recovery and for not performed recycling.
Is your company obliged to pay a product fee ? Check if you can avoid the product fee by completing a short 3-minute survey – HERE.
This is understood as the export of packaging waste from the territory of the country to the territory of a non-member state of the European Union for recycling.
Act of June 13, 2013 on the management of packaging and packaging waste (Journal of Laws of 2013, item 888, as amended).
Act of April 24, 2009 on batteries and accumulators (Journal of Laws of 2009, No. 79, item 666, as amended).
Act of 11 May 2001 on the obligations of entrepreneurs regarding the management of certain wastes and on the product fee (Journal of Laws of 2001 No. 63, item 639, as amended).
The obligation to conduct public educational campaigns applies to all entrepreneurs who introduce products in packaging to the market in Poland. According to Art. 19 of the Act of June 13, 2013, in addition to the obligation to recycle packaging waste, each entrepreneur is also obliged to conduct public educational campaigns in the field of environmental protection, or if this is not possible, allocate 2% of the net value of purchased packaging for this purpose.
It is also possible to delegate this obligation to a specialized entity, such as Interzero.
DPR – means a document confirming the recycling of packaging waste, including specifying the mass of such waste and the method of its recycling.
EDPR – means a document confirming, respectively, the export of packaging waste or intra-Community delivery of packaging waste for recycling, including specifying the weight of such waste.
This means the export of packaging waste from the territory of the country to the territory of another Member State of the European Union for recycling.
The documents are issued at the request of the person introducing products in packaging, packaging recovery organizations or economic self-government organizations by the entrepreneur: exporting packaging waste and making intra-Community delivery of packaging waste.

Zero Waste IT
It is the preparation of used devices for reuse. In addition to cleaning equipment and repairing or replacing parts, full anonymization is also performed, which means that Interzero removes all traces of data on these devices. You can also install new software.
Electrical and electronic equipment often has a short lifespan. In Poland, due to the obligation to conduct selective waste collection, it is forbidden to throw waste equipment into municipal waste containers. However, even a used device can be fully functional and too valuable to end up in the trash. We deal with certified and safe refurbishment of equipment, turning it into resaleable assets. It must be noted that electronic equipment quickly loses value, so it is worth considering the decision to sell it to maximize the value recovered.
We buy all kinds of electronics, e.g. monitors, desktop computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones, servers and batteries, network devices and consumer electronics. We will be happy to help in the development of other devices as well. Contact us for additional information – zerowasteit@interzero.pl.
In order to prepare an offer, we need information about the quantity, type, manufacturer, model name, specifications, age, SSD (for laptops), condition, defects, power adapter you have. Do not hesitate to contact us and ask for a quote form!
The following minimum quantities apply:
- Computers: 50 pcs.
- Laptops: 25 pcs.
- Monitors (from 19 inches): 70 pcs.
We collect tablets, phones, consumer electronics and Apple products in smaller quantities – please ask for details.
Certificate resources SAVED – is a document developed in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute UMSICHT and delivered to our partners confirming the saving of primary resources and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The values are certified by the Fraunhofer Institute and can therefore be displayed in the sustainability report.
Made4Loop
Looping is the use of reusable food packaging that consumers rent for a fee and then return via a deposit system. In this way, the packaging remains in a closed loop.
The Made4Loop service is Looping of reusable cups and containers in a model in which Interzero provides support at every stage of the process. Our solution is tailor-made and adapted to enterprises of all sizes. We will adjust the project stages to the needs of your business.
If you run a cafe, catering outlet or sell drinks in disposable takeaway cups, from January 1, 2024, you must impose additional fees on your customers who order drinks in disposable cups from you. The reason for these changes is the adoption of the SUP (Single Use Plastics) Act, which is a transposition of the EU Directive 2019/904. From July 1, 2024, entrepreneurs selling drinks in disposable cups will have to provide their customers with a more sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative.
According to the interpretation of the Ministry of Finance, the fee may be included in the product price and does not have to be separated on the receipt.
The fee is charged only for disposable plastic packaging.
The fee for a single-use cup or packaging is borne by the end consumer.
No, reusable packaging is not subject to the SUP Act.
Made4Loop – deposit system for reusable packaging
Made4Loop – deposit system for reusable packaging
From July 1, 2024 entrepreneurs selling drinks in disposable cups will have to provide their customers with alternative packaging that will be more environmentally friendly and help reduce the amount of plastic waste. This obligation results from the Polish SUP Act, which is a transposition of EU Directive 2019/904. One way to adapt to the requirements of the plastic directive is to introduce a deposit system for reusable returnable packaging in your company.
Looping – Interzero's response to the obligations imposed by the SUP Directive
Looping is a unique service that will help you implement sustainable, reusable and ecological alternatives to disposable cups and food packaging in your company. We created it in response to legal changes that aim to promote sustainable, circular packaging made from environmentally friendly materials.
The Made4Loop model created by Interzero involves the use of reusable cups and packaging , which customers rent for a deposit and then return through a deposit system. In this way, the packaging remains in a closed loop and is reused dozens, if not hundreds of times.
We create our reusable packaging with the specific needs of each Client and their business in mind, and with the utmost care for the environment. Together with our Partners, we conduct research on the raw materials and materials used to constantly improve our product and offer the highest quality materials that meet the high expectations of each Client.

Modern technologies are the foundation of the Made4Loop service
In order to meet the needs and expectations of our Clients, we are constantly conducting research, thanks to which we can offer even more sustainable packaging and logistics services. We are currently developing a solution that allows the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize logistics, which is an integral part of the Made4Loop service. Thanks to it, we will be able to gradually reduce the carbon footprint of our activities, which will certainly translate into increasingly better results for our Clients in the area of environmental ESG reporting.
For many years, we have also been improving the technology of producing recycled plastics and gaining know-how that allows us to conduct further development work. As a result of the unique Recycled-Resource process, we produce 2 types of plastics: Recythen® and Procyclen® with parameters ideally suited to the needs of our customers. We have also developed a special process of sorting plastic waste, thanks to which we prepare the waste stream for chemical recycling. This allows us to recover and reuse raw materials that have so far been sent to thermal recycling. Thanks to investments in new installations, we will soon increase the scale of plastics recovered by chemical recycling methods.
