Resource conservation and climate protection
Interzero works with customers and partners to close the raw material cycle and achieve long-term climate change mitigation and resource conservation. The prestigious Fraunhofer UMSICHT institute publishes studies confirming the positive environmental impact of our activities.

Scientifically proven climate protection
In its annual study 'resources SAVED by recycling', the Fraunhofer Institute UMSICHT calculates the extent to which Interzero's recycling activities have contributed to environmental protection.
A recent study showed that in 2024 alone 1.9 million tonnes of raw materials were processed in closed-loop systems run by Interzero companies in Germany, Austria, Poland, Italy and Slovenia, saving approx. 8.09 million tonnes of primary raw materials.
The weight of the resources saved is equivalent to the weight of more than four million SUVs*. At the same time, Interzero's recycling activities avoided emissions of a total of 1.04 million tonnes of greenhouse gases - equivalent to the CO2 emissions generated by around 3.2 million individual car journeys between our offices in Warsaw and Valencia**.

8.085.617
In 2024, Interzero saved around 8.09 million tonnes of primary raw materials by recycling 1.9 million tonnes of raw materials.
1.041.974
Interzero's recycling activities reduced greenhouse gas emissions by more than 1.04 million tonnes last year.
731.596
Recycling of electrical appliances has saved more than 730,000 tonnes of primary raw materials.
192.662
The company recycled more than 190,000 tonnes of paper, cardboard and paperboard, avoiding around 58,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions.
217.047
In total, more than 215,000 tonnes of waste glass were recycled, reducing the use of virgin raw material by almost 670,000 tonnes.
968.559
The company recycled around 1 million tonnes of plastic, saving around 4 million tonnes of virgin raw materials.
Resources SAVED by recycling - certificates for our customers and partners
Sustainable competitive advantage: in cooperation with Interzero, you improve your environmental footprint and strengthen the bond with your customers. In your individual resource conservation certificate, we show you the amount of primary raw materials and greenhouse gases saved annually, measured on the basis of your individual contribution - whether it is recycling or reusing IT equipment. Transparency is not only a core value for us, but is also highly valued by our customers and partners.
Reducing transport, reuse of IT equipment
In another study in the series "resources SAVED" Fraunhofer UMSICHT looked at the positive impact of refurbishing and reusing IT and communication devices, organised by Interzero. For example, extending the life of one laptop through refurbishment saves around 181 kg of primary raw materials and 154 kg of greenhouse gas emissions.
Interzero's mobile counting centre (MCC) also helps to save resources. The local availability of the mobile counting service for single-use bottles allows companies to avoid long journeys to stationary counting centres. "resources SAVED" shows that the annual CO2 savings from the MCC are equivalent to the amount of greenhouse gases absorbed from around three wooded football pitches.
