Nearly half of all municipal waste disposed of in the „black bag” should not end up in it at all, according to an analysis we conducted in cooperation with the Częstochowa University of Technology as part of the UNEP/GRID-Warsaw Climate Leadership programme. The study covered mixed municipal waste from various Polish installations. The aim was to qualitatively analyse the residual fraction and, based on this, identify product groups that could be included in the ROP system.

By recycling 1.94 million tonnes of materials in 2024, Interzero has saved around 1.04 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions and 8.09 million tonnes of primary resources

Companies can, from now on, have their packaging assessed against specifications and receive a clear assessment of recyclability in line with upcoming EU requirements.

The Ministry of Climate and Environment (MoE) has sent for public consultation a draft law on packaging and packaging waste (designated UC100), which is expected to introduce the Extended Producer Responsibility (ROP) system in Poland. Find out more during Interzero's free webinar on 25 September.

On 24 July, we celebrated Environmental Debt Day 2025 and for us at Interzero, this day perfectly symbolises what drives us. This year, too, we are moving EOD (Earth Overshoot Day) forward with our circular solutions. However, we are not achieving this alone, but together with our customers and partners - because "climate protection is a team sport". Achieving an even greater impact, however, requires more than that: better structural conditions for a circular economy and an alliance of politicians, business and society - a true team for resource conservation.

The Interzero Environmental Conference - the most anticipated event in the recycling and environmental industry - took place on 3-4 June 2025.
