What are the benefits of requesting DPR and EDPR documents?
The information contained in the DPR documents is the basis for determining the weight of waste recycled and then for calculating the product fee to be paid by businesses or recovery organisations. Having DPR or EDPR documents can therefore bring financial benefits to the entrepreneur in the form of avoiding a product fee and the possibility of selling surplus DPRs and EDPRs to recovery organisations.
Increasing minimum recycling levels and legislative changes mean that the price of DPRs is steadily rising, and the the profit from their sale becomes a significant income for many companies. The purchase price of DPR and EDPR documents depends, among other things, on the material recycled and the processing used. Before concluding a transaction, Interzero also checks that the documents comply with the relevant quality standards.
DPR and EDPR documents - proof of fulfilment of recovery and recycling obligation
Entrepreneurs who introduce packaged products are obliged to ensure the recovery and recycling of waste generated from these packages. This obligation results from the Waste Act, which specifies the minimum levels of recovery and recycling to be achieved by the producer in a given calendar year. It is the DPR and EDPR documents that confirm the achievement of these levels, and thus the fulfilment of the statutory obligation.
The recovery and recycling obligation can be carried out independently (in which case the required recycling rate would be 100%) or with the help of the Interzero Packaging Recovery Organisation.
Recovery and recycling levels in 2024 and previous years
Statutory recovery and recycling levels are set separately for each type of packaging waste. From 2022. the required recycling rates for each fraction are gradually increasingto reach the 55% required by EU legislation in 2025 and in 2030. - 70% for all types of packaging waste.

Frequently asked questions about DPR and EDPR documents
DPRs and EDPRs are documents used to confirm the recycling of packaging waste. They not only inform about the mere fact that the waste was handed over to the recycler, but also indicate the type and weight of this waste and how it was processed.
DPR and EDPR documents enable monitoring of the amount of packaging waste that has been recycled. They are also confirmation of the fulfilment of the obligation to recover and recycle waste, which is one element of extended producer responsibility.
According to the Packaging and Packaging Waste Management Act, there are 2 types of recycling documents:
- DPR confirms the recycling of packaging waste and specifies the weight of this waste and how it is recycled,
- EDPR confirms the export or intra-Community supply of packaging waste for recycling and specifies the weight of this waste.
The DPR and EDPR documents are used by recovery organisations and by businesses that carry out the recovery and recycling obligation themselves. They serve the following purposes to confirm the fulfilment of this obligation and to achieve the minimum legal recycling rates. For companies and organisations that have only partially fulfilled the obligation, the data contained in the DPR and EDPR documents are used to calculate the product fee due.
Each DPR document is made up of several blocks that include information on:
- name and surname or name, address of residence or registered office and registration number, as referred to in Article 54(1) of the Waste Act of 14 December 2012, of the entity for which the document is intended,
- name and surname or name, address of residence or registered office and registration number, as referred to in Article 54 (1) of the Waste Act of 14 December 2012, of the entity requesting the document,
- name and surname or name, address of residence or registered office and registration number as referred to in Article 54 (1) of the Act of 14 December 2012 on waste of the recycler of packaging waste,
- the weight of packaging waste accepted for recycling per type and per household and non-household source, and how it was recycled, the number of the waste transfer note confirming its acceptance and the quarter in which it was accepted.
Each EDPR document is made up of several blocks that include information on:
- name and surname or name, address of residence or registered office and registration number, as referred to in Article 54(1) of the Waste Act of 14 December 2012, of the entity for which the document is intended,
- the name and surname or name, address of residence or registered office and registration number as referred to in Article 54 (1) of the Act of 14 December 2012 on Waste of the exporter of packaging waste or intra-Community supplier of packaging waste,
- the name and address of the waste consignee,

Electrical and electronic equipment often has a short lifespan. In Poland, it is forbidden to dispose of waste equipment in municipal waste bins due to the obligation to carry out separate waste collection. However, even used equipment can be fully functional and is too valuable to end up in the trash. We are in the business of certified and safe refurbishment of equipment, turning it into a resalable asset. Please note that electronic equipment quickly loses value, so it is worth considering the decision to sell in order to maximise the recovered value.
We buy all kinds of electronics, e.g. monitors, desktop computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones, servers and batteries, network devices and consumer electronics. We are happy to help with the disposal, including other devices. Contact us for further information - zerowasteit@interzero.pl.
