Zbigniew Skowronek is the new Management Board Representative at Interzero

We would like to inform you that from January this year. Zbigniew Skowronek took up a new position as Representative of the Management Board of Interzero.

In his new role, he will be responsible primarily for the development of the Made4Loop service, a solution for reusable closed-circuit food and beverage packaging, and building relationships with key clients of the HoReCa industry.

Zbigniew Skowronek is an experienced specialist in: business development in the waste industry, with which he has been associated for 15 years. Currently, as a representative of the Interzero management board, he is responsible for creating and implementing a sales strategy for new products, managing a team and building relationships with key clients. Currently, it focuses primarily on solutions that respond to the obligations arising from SUP. He graduated from the University of Economics in Krakow, AGH and Central Connecticut State University, where he obtained an MBA degree. More HERE

Jan Pyśkiewicz is the new Director of the Recycling Department at Interzero

We would like to inform you that from January 2, 2024 Jan Pyśkiewicz becomes the director of the Interzero recycling department. A long-time expert in packaging and waste management, who for many years served as the chief specialist at the Marshal’s Office of the Masovian Voivodeship.

The new director will head the entire Recycling Department , where he will actively support the Company and customers in a wide range of issues related to waste management.

The extensive competences of our new Director of the Recycling Department will certainly strengthen our position in the area of ​​recycling and circular solutions. Jan Pyśkiewicz’s duties at Interzero will include, among others: monitoring the recycling market and building long-term relationships with customers.

Starting cooperation with Interzero will allow me not only to look at the existing system from a completely new perspective, but also to take an active part in shaping it and implementing changes that are beneficial for both entrepreneurs and the environment. In my new position, I will manage the work of the team responsible for strengthening cooperation with waste management entities. Currently, the market is changing dynamically, which is why close contact and cooperation between recovery organizations and companies from the waste industry becomes crucial. – said Jan Pyśkiewicz.

Szlachetna Paczka 2023 at Interzero!

The spirit of Christmas has arrived at Interzero – once again we took part in the Szlachetna Paczka campaign.

The final of the Szlachetna Paczka took place last weekend. During the “week of miracles”, volunteers from all over Poland got involved in preparing gifts for families and people in need.

Once again, Interzero took part in the charity collection. This year, financial and material support went to a family from Łódź. Most of our employees joined the donation collection campaign, which makes us incredibly happy. We sincerely hope that this year’s Christmas will bring them joy and peace of mind.

Although this year’s edition of Szlachetna Paczka has already ended, we strongly encourage you to support the campaign with donations via the website – this will allow us to help even more families in the next year.

More and more countries in Europe are deciding to introduce a deposit system, and in Poland, deposit collection of beverage packaging is to be in force from 2025.

Therefore, many retail chains decide to use automated collection of beverage packaging. One of the companies that benefited from our help in this area is the Eurocash Group . Thanks to our cooperation, on February 1, 2023 we launched the first Sielaff SiCompact XL Bottle Machine in the Delikatesy Centrum chain. The device, of which we are a distributor in Poland, can be seen live in the store in Bemowo, Warsaw.

Summary of the Zero Waste Fair 2023

The Zero Waste Fair is an annual event that attracts enthusiasts of ecology and sustainable lifestyle. This is a unique event during which we can meet truly committed creators, participate in workshops that facilitate the transition to an ecological path, and take part in collections of items that we no longer need, but can find a new life in the hands of other people.

This year we met on December 2. It’s time to sum up our participation in the fair!

At the Interzero stand you could:

• Replace electronic waste with plants,
• Take part in flow workshops to save lonely socks,
• Exchange items at the Unwanted Gifts Rack,
• Create jewelry from electronic waste,
• Visit the bookstore part of the stand and learn about many items related to climate and environmental issues.

Thank you for so many visits to our stand!

Thanks to your involvement, we managed to collect as much as 1,341 kg of electronic waste, which we exchanged for plants.

In addition, we managed to create many Christmas sock gnomes, interesting and unique jewelry made of electrical appliances, and the shelf for unwanted gifts turned out to be the perfect solution for unwanted gadgets that we so often receive from other people!

The future of retail chains and bottle dispensers – Interzero at the Carrefour Fair

The Carrefour Polska 2023 fair took place on 29-30. This is an event for suppliers and franchise partners of this chain.

We were present there with our Sielaff bottle dispensers , specifically the SiCompact XL and Eco M models. We have had numerous conversations regarding not only our devices, but above all, preparations for the deposit system and current legal changes.

From 2025 Poland is to have a deposit system covering disposable plastic bottles up to 3 liters, reusable glass bottles up to 1.5 liters and metal cans up to 1 liter. Entrepreneurs who market packaged beverages and distributors of packaged beverages that will be subject to a deposit have little time to adapt to the new regulations and prepare to assume new statutory obligations.

Producers of beverages in packaging covered by the deposit-refund system will be obliged to achieve a high statutory level of selective collection of packaging and packaging waste. In 2025 they will have to collect 77% of them, and in 2029 as much as 90%. In addition, they will be obliged to keep detailed records of packaging and place special markings on packaging subject to a deposit.

For retail chains, the key obligations will be: concluding a contract with at least one representative entity, collecting and returning deposits, collecting empty packaging, settling costs, keeping records of packaging and informing consumers.

Waste logistics will be facilitated by bottle lockers or the organization of an effective bag system. The bag system enables effective and economical segregation of various types of waste at the stage of collection. Bottle lockers, however, are revolutionizing the process of collecting bottles after single use. These automatic devices allow users to conveniently and immediately return bottles to the place of purchase.

Interzero invites you to the 17th edition of the Puls Literatury Festival in Łódź!

The Pulse of Literature Festival is an annual cultural event during which authors, readers, publishers and other literature lovers meet to participate in discussions, presentations, readings and other book-related activities.

In 2023, the festival takes place in early December (1-10/12/2023) under the slogan ” On the edge of utopia” and will discuss topics related to utopia in the political, economic and ecological dimensions.

The festival includes meetings with authors and thematic panels, literary workshops, activities for children, performative readings and concerts. We will also be there.

Interzero will organize Family Ecological Workshops on December 9 (Saturday) (registration at the e-mail address adresy@dom-literatury.pl ). The workshops will be led by the Head of the Ecological Education Team , Edyta Mantorska.

Ecology workshops provide a great opportunity to learn about environmental protection and sustainability. Children learn not only through words, but also through actions and observation of adults. Participating in ecological workshops can help shape pro-ecological attitudes, which will influence the child’s everyday decisions and life habits. All these activities can make them reflect and stimulate their sense of responsibility for preserving the natural environment. It is also a great opportunity to spend creative time with your children.

The winding road to a circular economy – Paweł Lesiak’s statement for Rzeczpospolita

The waste management market is going through a period of dynamic changes – both in terms of national and regional legislation, as well as market-wide. Due to many unexpected circumstances, 2023 was a challenging year for entrepreneurs.

In his latest statement for Rzeczpospolita, Vice-President of the Management Board of Interzero, Paweł Lesiak, approached the topic from a business point of view, presenting a thorough analysis of all factors that influenced changes in the waste management industry. Among them he mentioned, among others: the impact of the war in Ukraine on the packaging situation in Poland or the reason for the mass import of cheap regranulate from Asia. He also indicated what changes await the economy in the near future, as well as what actions we should take to support the green transformation and shorten the path to the implementation of the circular economy. He emphasized the importance of taking into account the global situation as part of the modernization of the European market and simplifying environmental regulations for better performance of entrepreneurs in the field of sustainable development.

Interzero takes an active part in building the deposit system and actively supports entrepreneurs in adapting to the new legal and economic environment. We pay particular attention to issues related to legal and constitutional regulations, monitoring changes in the law and trying to influence decisions made at the ministerial level.
