Inclusivity in the Metaverse? Meet the eco-friendly shop with a mission!
Circular. Eco-friendly without the corners is Interzero's innovative public education campaign promoting the idea of a circular economy.
It is a shop concept set in the Metaverse to teach the public which packaging is more environmentally friendly. It is a project created in collaboration with Studio A8 Architecture.
The main idea behind the project was to create a virtual space that would act as a sustainable shop of the future. Its body is based on a circle, symbolising a closed circuit. Inside it, we find shelves on which we place examples of products available on the market that have ecological packaging.
A walk-through of Okraglak is not just about packaging, but also about all the ideas we had in mind when we created the place, ready to be implemented in the real world - such as providing customers with a station to refill their containers with their favourite product, ensuring access to fresh, seasonal produce and adapting the shop for people with disabilities.

Interzero at the VIII European Congress of Local Authorities in Mikolajki
Interzero at the VIII European Congress of Local Authorities in Mikolajki
Paweł Lesiak, Vice President of the Management Board of Interzero, was a panellist at the 8th European Congress of Local Governments, held in Mikołajki on 6-7 March 2023. In a conversation with his participation, entitled 'The European Congress of Local Governments. "The future of waste management. How to maximise the effects?" attended:
Bogusław Fijas - Mayor of Ostróda Municipality,
Krzysztof Karolczyk - Project Development Manager Fortum Power and Heat Polska
Bartosz Sierżga - Director, Environmental Protection Agency
Szymon Sikorski - Plenipotentiary, Hugo Kołłątaj University of Agriculture in Kraków
The panel was moderated by Jeremi Jędrzejkowski - Managing Editor, Rzeczpospolita Polska
During the debate, issues related to the municipal waste management system were raised, including the ever-increasing cost of waste segregation and the emergence of waste incinerators in cities. In Interzero's view, the ROP is not a comprehensive solution to waste management problems for local authorities. ROP funding for packaging waste will only apply to approximately 30% of all waste generated in municipalities. A better option is to involve commercial actors in the cooperation. However, this requires more stable legislation to enable such cooperation to develop.
The theme of this year's meeting was "New solidarity for a new era". The European Local Government Congress is a platform and a place for the exchange of ideas with local government officials, national administrations, NGOs and business representatives. As Interzero, we are keen to share knowledge with those who have a real influence on the development of the Polish waste economy.
International Women's Day
International Women's Day
Women perform many roles on a daily basis: they are mothers, friends, carers, but also doctors, programmers, farmers and lawyers. Their function in developing the world is immense and cannot be underestimated. On this special day, Women's Day, we want to lean into the issue of gender equality that is still present today.
At Interzero, we believe in a fair and accessible future. Each of us has the right skills, strengths and experience, which together create exceptional value.
Together we can be the change.
Take a look at the video, which summarises in a few sentences what our values are at Interzero. Link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NjeZf1gj2IY

Eco-experimentarium exhibition now in Bielsko-Biała!
Eco-experimentarium exhibition now in Bielsko-Biała!
The exhibition on ecology, of which we are a partner, is now heading for the south of Poland, namely Bielsko-Biała! From 10 March to 5 May The exhibition will be on display at the Punkt 11 facility, 24 11 Listopada Street.
Why is it worth it?
This is a great opportunity to learn more about the climate and eco-friendly attitudes. The exhibition is built on the layout of a house - in the living room you will learn how to save energy, in the bathroom you will take care to use every drop of water, and in the kitchen you will learn about ways to cook in a zero waste style. This is a great opportunity for both young and old to learn and spend time in an interesting and useful way.
Admission to the exhibition is free! You are cordially invited.

The most common mistakes made in the implementation of obligations arising from environmental legislation
The most common mistakes in the implementation of obligations under environmental legislation - article in Chemistry and Business magazine
The latest issue of Chemistry and Business magazine features a statement by Przemysław Kuna, Managing Director at Interzero, on the most common mistakes made by entrepreneurs regarding their obligations under environmental regulations.
The majority of businesses operating in Poland are related to production and provision of services that generate so-called environmental waste. Environmental awareness is growing in our country, but business owners do not always know what specific obligations apply to them as part of their operations.
The biggest area causing problems for entrepreneurs is waste management. The problem starts with choosing the right collector and ends with the decision, the entry in the BDO and the storage itself. Waste, packaging and air emissions are key areas that should be formally regulated.
