EPR compliance for WEEE and batteries in Italy

This requirement is based on Italy's implementation of two key EU directives:

  • Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE),
  • Directive 2006/66/EC and EU Regulation 2023/1542 on batteries and accumulators and waste batteries and accumulators.

The authorised representative acts on behalf of the foreign manufacturer to ensure full compliance with Italian and EU regulations. This includes:

  • Registration in the relevant national registers,
  • Submission of regular reports on the quantities and types of products marketed,
  • Ensuring proper labelling, collection and recycling,
  • Coordination with EPR collective schemes where appropriate.

  • Batteries or accumulators (either as stand-alone products or integrated into appliances),
