18 February is International Battery Day<\/strong><\/h2>\n
Most of us have at least one battery-powered appliance at home. This has been a solution for years to help reduce energy consumption and lower bills. However, it also has its drawbacks. Batteries are harmful to our planet and become hazardous waste when they run out. They contain many harmful substances that can poison water and land. One small button battery can contaminate a cubic metre of the environment!<\/div>\n

How should we celebrate this day? It is worth considering whether there are items with used batteries lying around somewhere in our homes that we should dispose of. Check whether your batteries are still working. Think about whether you are buying too many disposable batteries instead of rechargeable ones.<\/div>\n

On the occasion of this holiday, we would also like to remind you that batteries should not be disposed of in mixed waste, but in dedicated bins or at the PSZOK. By donating used batteries to dedicated collection points, we protect the environment.<\/div>\n
